Seed bomb necklaces
The first necklace in this series was developed for the exhibition 'Use' curated by Lisa Bryan-Brown. It explores the idea of a necklace being a tool for the wearer - in this case a two part mould which the wearer can use to make an endless supply of seedbomb beads for new necklaces. Seed bombs are a mixture of clay, compost and seeds which are thrown into the environment and then germinate. The work also investigates how the artist/jeweller uses the wearer as a tool to propagate and disseminate their ideas. The work was developed into a further series of five necklaces which were showcased in the exhibition Inhabiting Space curated by Dr Elizabeth Shaw.
